Steve Roberts
I have just received my usual IFP newsletter, which seems to suggest there may be concessions for those with a major illness. http://www.french-property.com/newsletter/2007/10/1/ Steve
cooperlola
This is some of the more positive news we've seen. Hopefully I'll be able to find out more from Mary Honeyball's political advisor later on this afternoon. It seems to at least cover the more pressing issues for those with more serious conditions - who are let's face it, by far the worst off in all this. The five year rule is also clearer, and this thinking backs up what we understood re EU law. Thank you for that.
ams
Hopefully the 5 year rule will not only cover those that have resided in France for 5 years but also those who will be here 5 years at a later date. As in our case the 5 years will terminate on the 20th June 2009. Kind of like a prison sentence. ams
Me0wp00
None of this is valid until the local CPAM's have been told of the decision and can act on it, see my post on breaking news for my parents personal situation.http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/15/1037993/ShowPost.aspx#1037993
cooperlola
MeOwp, the article certainly says that the new guidelines have not yet been issued to the French CPAMs so it is not a great surprise that confusion reigns, is it? The cut off date has been reached for some but nobody knows what to do![:-))]Any chance you could make that link work? I'm not sure which post this is without typing the whole address in, thanks.
