cartref
HiI am off to the dentists today[:'(] and wondered if any one had any ideas re: costs for treatment. This is my first time at a French dentist and think I may need an extraction. Any help gladly received.cartref
cooperlola
A filling with x-rays cost me about 90 euros and a check-up and clean 35. I got all the money back through my top-up and CMU (possibly for the last time?) I don't know about an extraction but they're not the most expensive thing a dentist does. Bon courage. His couch goes completely flat, and instead of having a spittoon for you to rinse into, he hoses out your mouth and vacuums it up.

[/quote]If you have been charged €28 or €30 for a visit to a generalist, he(she) cannot have been a médecin conventionné, as their tariff is set by the Sécurité Sociale. If you have visited a specialist, this is the correct tariff.Details here: http://www.ameli.fr/assures/soins-et-remboursements/

We know of someone who had to pay 789€ for a partial denture to be made, only 180€ reimbursed. That same neighbour said "that is why lots of people in France have a tube of super-glue in their pockets". Now there's a few out there I'd like to super-glue their gobs shut (permanently...hence the Fat Club thread), but I would'nt like to attempt this on nice people![;-)]
