lafermedegrandjean
Hello, Has anyone any experience of the following: My husband is of retirement age and takes a pension although he still has work contacts in the UK. We have set up a equestrian farm and have installed with the MSA. We have to pay 3K euros every year for cotisations which I beleive are the minimum. We do not make any money yet. In England I paid no social contributions as I was on a low income and was told that I would be covered by my husbands contributions. Would this follow in France or should I carry on paying the contributions?

cooperlola
You can "piggy back" onto your husband's E121 for your healthcare but I don't think that helps you get out of paying cotis on a business, afaik, but somebody else will know more. Tony F Dordogne
We went into this when we arrived here and have done in the past couple of months. Both my OH and I have E121s but if we open a business in France, we will still have to pay full cotizations for whoever is involved in the business. Owen
Hello Louise,Your husbasds E121 is irrelevant in your case. You are paying your social contributions including health because you have set up a business. The contributions are obligatory and in any case you will be covered by a "caisse" other than the CPAM for health. Your husband can affiliate with his E121 to the CPAM or he could piggy back on your contributions to the MSA.RegardsOwenpjowen@expathealthdirect.co.uk
