moonbus53
I am currently renting for 6 months only and intending returning to the UK in March.Unfortunately since my arrival I have developed a 'health problem' for which I have had to attend the doctor on 3 occasions, have had several different medications prescribed and have now been referred to a spcecialist who insisted I had a blood test done.As you can imagine I have a growing collection of Feuilles de soins.So..the question is...how do I go about claiming the costs back? Tony F Dordogne
Are you registered with CPAM or do you have an EHIC from the UK?If the former, you send off the forms to your departmental CPAM office and they will reimburse you directly into your bank account, assuming it is in France. If the latter, take the whole lot home and send them to the office that issued your EHIC, they should reimburse you.Assuming of course that you had one or the other - or you have travel insurance to cover you? Weegie
Can I disagree about taking the feuilles de soin back to UK if you are on an EHIC? The quickest method for obtaining a refund, if you are still in the country, is to take them to your local CPAM who will reimburse you. The UK authorities do not reimburse but send the paperwork to the appropriate country who then return the amount due. There is fuller information on the UK Govt Department of Health site: http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Policyandguidance/Healthadvicefortravellers/Gettingtreatmentaroundtheworld/EEAandSwitzerland/EEAandSwitzerlandbycountry/index.htm
