Iceni
CPAM (or whoever) with-holds 1€ when reimbursing me for a doctor's visit. I had thought that the state's intention was that I would not be able to reclaim it from my top-up insurer either but not so. Is my insurer being overly generous or did I grasp the wrong end of a stick ?TIAJohnnot
cooperlola
Who is your insurer, Iceni? French mutuelles cannot, by law, reimburse the 1€ as I understand it. However, a British based company may well do so. This may be the cause of the confusion, I do not know - just a guess.
Iceni
The insurer is registered in England with their registered office in London though the "Loi Applicable" under the policy is France. In which case some are more equal than others when trading here. Thanks - not that I will make a fortune from the extra 1€ it's just nice to knowJohn
SC
It will be interesting to see if you get the 50 Cents charge per medicine prescribed back in the same way. I understand that it's to be accounted for at the issuing of the prescription. Steve

Steve[/quote]It's simply withheld from your re-imbursements.It's 50 centimes a box, not per medicine, so if a month's treatment needs 3 boxes it's 1 euro
