User no longer member.
Hi, we have our letter of attestation with the new securite sociale number and still wait for our Carte Vitale. We have been to see the CPAM lady again and she tells us that it is on its way. In the meantime we can produce this letter and pay only the balance required. We are confused however that OH's Diabetic medicine is not free as expected... the doctor told us they would be as it is a chronic conditiion. When we took the latest presription in this week we had to pay 48 Euros as the balance. Can anyone shed some light on this please?p.s. we are getting round to taking out top up insurance through local insurance people ... next job on the list! Sunday Driver
Your doctor may well consider that your diabetes is a qualifying condition for 100% reimbursement, but in order for you to get it, he has to formally submit a request to your CPAM. The request will be revieed by a medical commisiion and if approved, your CPAM will issue an updated attestation showing the 100% entitlement.I'd be surprised if your doctor hasn't done his bit, so it's probably still in the review process. Give it a while yet, then follow up to your CPAM.
