Clarkkent
I believe that it is quite usual for brain surgery to be practised on conscious patients - it enables the surgeon to receive feedback from patients about their reactions to the procedures being performed. Also, a French first? I only caught the end of the programme, but wasn't Robert Winston observing something similar in the USA a couple of weeks ago? I would guess that similar procedures are being undertaken in many parts of the world.
Callie
They showed it on TF1 last night. What was incredible was that the patient was allowed to go straight home that day.Remember the revolution when they started doing knee/cartiledge operations by keyhole surgery ?
