chocccie
... ie, the 'morning after pill'. Is it readily available here in France? (I don't need one, by the way! )
Cat
It seems as if it is. 95% of users buy it at the pharmacy without prescription ...http://www.doctissimo.fr/html/dossiers/contraception/articles/8116-contraception-urgence-historique.htm
chocccie
I'm amazed it's available without prescription - it's quite a serious pill (in terms of it's effect on the body)

Will
"Contraception d’urgence" might sound better - or if that's a bit too direct, try "pilule du lendemain" [:D]
Frenchie
Yes, Norlevo is " la pilule du lendemain", A woman must take it as soon as possible after " un rapport non protégé ( without contraception) , or if there was a " condom accident" . Wendy
Norlevo - I was prescribed that by the local hospital last year to 'hurry on' a miscarriage already in progress. To 'get things over and done with' in other words. This is not a drug to be tampered with believe me - I had to stay in bed for three days and was in a lot of pain. And it messes you up in other ways too. Not a nice 'alternative' at all. Frenchie
Maybe the pain was due to the miscarriage because I used Norlevo once, and it was ok with me, just a bit sick on the second day...
Wendy
Down to both I'd say - I was told to expect severe cramping and duly experienced it, but it was worse about 20 mins after taking the drug each time. The things we girls go through...
