sueyh
We were advised in the UK by our Doctor to ensure that we updated our Polio vaccine every ten years. Is this so in France, also do we get our tetanus done every five or ten years. Many thanksSuey
Nell
Don't know about Polio, but tetanus is every 10 years. I had mine not long ago - you can either get it separately or have it combined with your flu jab
Sunday Driver
According to the NHS, childhood immunisation is sufficient to ensure lifelong protection against polio. However, if you didn't have the 'sugar lump' when you were a kid, then they advise that you have a vaccination before travelling to a specified high risk country - Nigeria, India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.France would seem to be safe.....[;-)]
Chrissie
Despite having the "sugarlump" about 12 years ago in UK, we have both just had new polio jabs and boosters, following our doctor's advice. No, we are not going anywhere exotic! (We live in SW France - that's exotic enough! [:D]Chrissie (81)
sueyh
Yeah our doctor in the UK advised us to have the polio booster when we were going to the Algarve ten years ago. So wondered if we therefore needed another booster now. Thanks for all the responses.Suey
