valgar
A few days ago I received a phonecall from STAMM Insurance offering me a cheap accident cover. I accepted and when it arrived, I carefully checked theconditions and I discovered that as I am non resident in France, the Policy is not valid ! In other words, I was mis-sold. Beware and read the small prints carefully. Always.

Sprogster
Valgar's warning is helpful, as it highlights a wider potential problem, in that some compulsory life assurance and unemployment insurance policies knowingly sold by French banks to non French residents, who are taking out mortgages with the bank on the purchase of a second French home, are simlarly invalid. Cendrillon
Quite right Sprogster, there was someone posting on here recently who was in a very difficult situation, motgage to pay, serious health problems and an insurance policy sold to her by the bank, that was far from clear. Perhaps someone can add a link from that posting.
Théière
Ok so my comment was too subtle, as you say recently we had just that information from poor Jan.http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/2073421/ShowPost.aspxWhy do we have search facilities on forums anyway?
