Jo Posted February 26, 2011 Share Posted February 26, 2011 Just before we moved I phoned DWP and as I currently qualify for a pension in my own right would it be worth me continuing to pay NI contributions to ensure I receive the full pension when I reach retirement age, was told this was not needed as I could claim on my husband's NI contributions. mint Posted February 26, 2011 Share Posted February 26, 2011 I know all our circumstances are unique but, when I rang up a couple of years ago, it was apparently "unproductive" for me to carry on paying and so I haven't.Just got to look after the Old Boy really well to ensure I have all his money for as long as I can![:D] That's not as heartless as it sounds because he knows full well that's my plan!
