saffron61
Has anyone else been told by CPAM that cmu base is not based on revenue as indicated on the amelie website, but on resources. We have always supplied our revenue fiscal de reference, a copy of our avis d'impot and signed the form.Apparently not correct? idun
http://www.cmu.fr/site/cmu.php4?Id=13&style=&col=It says that there is a list of things they need you to furnish on page 4. Your avis d'impots will be required. But like you I would have thought, as world wide income has to be declared on french resients tax form that all 'ressources' should be on this.So what are these other things that they want? idun
Well many things are means tested in France, but some aren't, always used to amaze me what wasn't.
cooperlola
I have heard of some people being denied CMU-C due to being cash poor but asset rich, but not - thus far - capital being taken into account when calculating CMU-B cotis. Doesn't surprise me though, that this is starting to be the way of things.
tinabee
I have heard of people being asked to provide copies of cartes grises, bank statements, taxes foncieres and d'habitations - it seems that checking up on assets is increasing. Also there is this on the Ameli website"En l'absence d'éléments permettant de procéder au calcul de votre cotisation, vous pourrez être taxé d'office par votre caisse d'Assurance Maladie sur la base d'une assiette fixée à 5 fois le plafond annuel de la sécurité sociale (35 352 € au 1er janvier 2011)." saffron61
The form "demand for cmu base" says if you supply your reference fiscal do not complete the rest of the form, simply sign and date. All the info on the ameli website says cmu base is based on revenue, which is covered by reference fiscal, not on resources.CPAM are now accusing several people of fraud for not having declared capital among other things. (cars, travel, valuables etc)We suspect only one departement is interpreting the word revenue to include capital.
Sunday Driver
Presumably they take into account your dole money as well as the cash from flogging off a couple of your old Renoirs..... saffron61
A word of warning to anyone claiming cmu base who is inactive. The form may say that if you fill in your tax reference and have no other income you do not need to supply any other info.DO NOT BELEIVE THIS.I would strongly suggest you contact your CPAM office and ask if they need any other info unless you want to be hounded and accused of making false declarations. We have now had to hire an avocat to defend us as we were not clairvoyant. Sunday Driver
Are you the same saffron61 that started a similar thread here a few days ago?http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/2501672/ShowPost.aspxFor the sake of continuity, why not post a few more details of your dealings with your CPAM on that thread...... saffron61
Yes, same saffron61.No further details to add really, comlpeted the form as indicated. CPAM say we haven't declared all our assets. Still can't understand their position. We are happy to pay cotisations, but not to be accused of wrong doing. No idea how to complete the form for this year.Just wanted to warn anyone who may be in the same situation, if other Departments take the same line. Seems to be directed at non actives , under retirement age, living mainly on capital.
