Assurance Dépendance

I am looking into this, which is an insurance in case I need much more help at home, or ever have to go into a home.

This could also be of interest to people with elderly relatives who live in France

Looking at costs I doubt I could afford to manage without it, but I am a bit taken aback at the conditions I have seen

La demande d'adhésion au contrat est en général automatiquement acceptée si le cadre répond aux 5 conditions suivantes :

• ne jamais avoir perçu de rente d'invalidité ;
• ne jamais avoir perçu de rente accident du travail d'un taux supérieur à 40% ;
• ne pas être atteint d'une maladie donnant droit à l'exonération du ticket modérateur ;
• ne pas être bénéficiaire d'une pension vieillesse au titre de l'inaptitude ;
• ne
  pas avoir été hospitalisé plus de 15 jours consécutifs et ne pas avoir
  eu un arrêt de travail de plus de 3 mois au cours des 5 dernières
  années.

I certainly wouldn't qualify on at least 2 of these.

Has anyone any experience of these sorts of insurance in France?

Are they necessary?

Are they honest?  ...do you actually get the help you need?

What are the sort of things they ask in the medical questionnaire?

Would just the ASA suffice?
