And in response to some of the other posters: yes, the rules might well change. For example, the rule how long you can receive cover without declaring any turnover has changed twice in the last few years. However, there have been far more rumours than real changes so far.

Something I think a lot of people forget, though, is that there are many thousands of French AEs and the regime seems to be successful. That wouldn't necessarily stop a doctrinaire leftist politician breaking it, but we must hope that they'll have more important things to do. Certainly the number of non-French AEs is small enough that it is unlikely to affect policy, no matter what some of the more paranoid Brits might think.
