mogs
We have received one of these asking us to pay an extra 20 euros - so I tried to speak to someone today with my French which leaves a lot to be desired (and I did apologise at the start of the conversation) and she was saying our payment was late, didn't reach them until 4 Feb - when in fact that was the date to the limit of the payment, so I'm confused. Is it worth sending a letter to ask to be let off? Has anyone tried this? Even so if they received our cheque on the date of the limit surely they can't say we were late?
EuroTrash
Definitely worth a try, or if you don't live too far away, go in and see them. They've just cancelled (I hope) a 50 € fine that I got for paying my AE cotisations late because of a mix-up. I started out convinced it was their fault but after she'd explained it, turned out it was in fact my fault, or partly - but she still gave me a form to fill in to apply to have the fine cancelled, and she seemed to think it would be OK.
