My only surprise is that it isn't going to be 'cut off' at a point in the near future, i.e. 2019 for new retirees.Anyway, as Norman says, it was always a matter for the UK and the noise level from 500k-ish expats in France & Spain alone would have been distracting.Mark you, the tabloids could well go for the "Moneyed expats living in the sun will continue to be subsidised" headlines.
