woolybanana
Trying to help someone sort their mutuelle health cover; they want only hospital stay plus hospital treatments. The cost varies from less that thirty euros a month to double or even treble for what appears to be the same offer.I was wondering what level of cover any of you have and roughly what it costs monthly. Thanks in advance. mint
Wooly, while comparing costs, did you look at the age range for the cover?I know of many companies who don't take on people over 70. If you could simulate a quote on the websites concerned, that might be a better comparison. No good me giving you our costs. OH is now maturing nicely and hey one pays for fine, matured, vintage, doesn't one?
woolybanana
Ah 3x, thank you for the light relief on this sleety day. Yes, We have been simulating on line but it is still very confusing for someone who is not familiar with the system. And I am no expert myself. We shall persevere.By the way, did you get my pm? NormanH
The things that can bump it up are (apart from age which you can't change but is a major factor) 1) What % cover is provided (remembering that the % is of the basic tarif not the actual cost), so for something costing say 1000€ but only reimbursed at 500€ by the Sécu's tarif would need 200% to be entirely covered.2) The level of optional extras such as whether there is cover for a private room and whether that is FR (real cost) or a forfait of say 50€ a day3) If the 20€ a day forfait is includedI have taken an expensive option with Swiss Life not least because they pay all this without me having to pay up front and claim back. My previous Mutuelle used to require me to advance it.I also have a full cover but 'modular' that is I can choose different levels of cover in different areas, but as I have a fairly hefty set of options I do not provide much of a point of comparison.I pay 160€ a month
