What does conventionné secteur 2 mean?

mint

Recommended Posts

I am ringing a clinic in a day or two for a consultation and minor op with a specialist recommended by my MT.

Looking up the name of the surgeon, it says that he is conventionné secteur 2.  It will be for something related to my ALD.

Can I expect 100% repayment and then pay something on top for the dépassement honoraire?

I will, of course, be asking on the phone when I make the RV but I'd like to have some info beforehand so that I could speak like someone who knows what they are talking about!

All replies gratefully received.

Thanks, Betty.  Just wanted to be informed.  I am prepared to pay the difference and it will only be a small op under a local anaesthetic.

What I mostly wanted was to escape the butcher with the chain-saw who did the op the first time round.

This is where the famous 100/200/300% mutuelle cover comes in.

A secteur 1  Doctour will restrict the charge to the tarif  of the sécu

As Betty says secteur 2 can charge more, but if your Mutuelle covers say 150 or 200% the extra can be reimbursed

Say the Tarif is 46€  but your specialist charges 92€

If your Mutuelle covers you for 100€ you will only get back 46€ ; if it covers for 150% you can get back 69€ and if it pays 200% you would get the full 92€.

My Mutuelle covers me at different rates for different things so check your out

Thanks, Norman.  I only have a mutuelle for 100% but I don't expect the excess to be too onerous.

I'll ask about the cost at the time of ringing up or the consultation if there is one pre op.  Nice little clinic if one can judge these things at a distance.

If they don't tell me the fees, I shall be asking.  It's not that I am reluctant to pay but I like to know where I am.

Frankly, I'd pay anything to avoid the aforementioned butcher who seemed to have been recommended or be the only person at the last clinic to be available.
