Need to renew carte vitale?

I have received an email from

"Service-Public.fr I France "

informing me that my carte vitale has to be renewed annually. It contains this link

http://clientservicesvitale.live/

I cannot remember having to renew before, (but that doesn't necessarily mean much)

I was just wondering whether this was genuine or a scam / phishing thing?

Normally you simply go to a pharmacy and they renew it for you. Your GP may not be able to do it, it depends.

I do seem to remember that it was annual though.

Never had a message to tell me to do it though. Best ignore but renew as suggested?

Definitely looks like phishing to me .. but to be sure .. access your Ameli account and send them a private message asking about it.

Normally your card can be updated .. mise à jour .. at your pharmacy.

Thanks to both replies. There is nothing on my Ameli account to indicate that any action is needed, but I will send them a message anyway.

Unfortunately, both of our cards get a fairly regular work out, so I am wondering whether that automatically indicates that they are in use?

I will post the gist of any response from Ameli.

And surely that address should have been https, and the s was missing, supposedly meaning a secure web site.

Just checked my french bank,  then L'assurance Retraite and Malakoffhumanis, and  are all https, as I expected.

Out of curiosity, I have gone through the process on the link provided and entered complete rubbish.

The site purports to validate the info entered between pages, but let me go forward even though what I entered didn't make sense.

Eventually, it offers two options on how the carte vitale will be delivered. I selected La Poste at 0,79€ which took me straight to the page which asked for my credit card details.

I suppose it's possible that someone would be trusting enough to complete this process, but I am 99% certain that the objective is to collect card details.

Well spotted .. just checked and Ameli is https ..

And yes, more or less as I thought Frexpt .. this is a phishing attempt to get your credit card details .. so, well avoided ?

I tell him to not open the email which I don't think should have

been sent out. Then on another computer I open our account/membership,

what ever, with the purported site and see if anything is mentioned. If

not, I tell him to spam it and clear the cookies.

If

it happens on my computer, I erase the cookies and look on the site

myself. If it isn't there, I spam it and then bin the spam folder and

then I erase the cookies again.

I truly don't know what else to do other than be very very cautious with any unsolicited contact.

You were braver than me, frxpt, I worry about opening  things, and that is because I really do not know that much about computers....... helas, not the only thing, I don't know how much works, including my car..... I live in a truly miraculous world, full of wonder, with certain things that I do worry about and am as prudent as I can be, never the less. [:$][Www]
