NormanH
The colour green gives the impression that everything is ok and you can go ahead; as at traffic lights. But to continue the analogy if you go forward without thinking you are likely to collide with the virus that you hadn't seen because you weren't looking. It also gives a strange sense of superiority over the areas in red, and perhaps makes people think that it is a problem there yeah but not hereI went out this morning to collect my groceries and there were a lot of people in The Streets around Les Halles nobody wearing masks and several groups standing close togetherI would not be at all surprised if we didn't become a root red area soonPlease remember that this virus is still out there invisible and even in green areas you can still catch it
alittlebitfrench
I totally agree with you Norman.Which is why our kids won't be going back to school and we will continue our lives for the moment like we are still on lockdown. If stupid people want to go out and catch the virus, let them. cajal
The lockdown has had one aim - to slow the spread and relieve the pressure on the health service. It isn't going to stop people being infected and dying, that will happen sooner or later unless a treatment or vaccine is found.

NormanH
That was said quite often on the discussions I watch on French TV I think also that was understood behind the idea of 'flattening the curve'

NormanH
I see what you mean, and I think it confirms my point that it is now a mistake to speak of a 'green' department, because people will assume that things are fine..[:-))]
NormanH
The Sick Rose By William Blake O Rose thou art sick. The invisible worm, That flies in the night In the howling storm: Has found out thy bed Of crimson joy: And his dark secret love Does thy life destroy.Ok Blake probably meant VD but there is a parallel
Lehaut
Perhaps the R number would be more significant. R less than 1, more like 0.7 for the current green areas. If it starts creeping up above 1 again (ie you are infecting more people) it would highlight the start of the second wave, putting them back into red.
