gynfreeman
Anyone know what the following error message means when trying to copy a file from a CD drive to a HDD? 'Data error (cyclic redundancy check)'and - more importantly - what do I do to fix it?paul(merry christmas everyone)
Mazan
It probably means what it says: the data on the CD is corrupt.I doubt that there is anything you can do to fix this apart from perhaps trying to read the CD on another CD drive (CD burners are particularly good at reading old/damaged disks, I find). What programme are you using to transfer the data? I've never seen that message.
Helios
Merry Christmas to you, thanks for your help regarding my FTV card, we managed to get it activated using a friends English mobile, only took 30 seconds!! As to your computer problems I would agree 100% with Mazan, it's a dodgy or corrupt CD, I've had the same problem!! Cheers L.
