Leschenauds
We are registered at a UK address for the purposes of receiving SKY programmes. As we are now resident in France, do we still need to keep paying the UK TV licence or will stopping payment trigger SKY to become suspicious? Val_2
When my mother in law died, for about four years continually afterwards, the TV licencing people kept sending letters every few months asking as to why her licence had not been renewed. We wrote and wrote and they still didn't stop until eventually we sold the house and left any future correspondence to the new owners. As for Sky checking, they do ring up sometimes to promote things and to check details - I know as my parents have had calls, but as for licence details I would have thought they could have checked if they wished to. Better play safe than sorry.
Jackie
We got a refund on our UK licence when we moved if I remember rightly. It may be that if you order a new FTV card or a subscription card to be delivered to a UK address that they may check to see if that address has a UK TV licence but that is not certain. If you live in France full-time you would be advised to pay the TV tax to the French authorities whatever programmes you watch. You don't really want to pay this twice.........John Dept
IAN_S
We have had to get a sky subscription based on a UK address where the licence is in another name and there has never been a problem. Also, I would think it very unlikely that the TV licencing authority would divulge this info to anyone, or am I being naive?
