freeview boxes

I have a flat near Le Touqet pas de calais I'am on a commual arial I can receive BBC1 2 and ITV and Channel 4 just the pictures no sound,does any one know how I can solve the problem of the sound and if I buy a freeview box will it work in france and improve my picture and sound quality my tv is a french set

The reason you can't get the sound is because you are using a French TV. Install a UK one & it will work.

There is no Freeview DTV from the CI, if you are receiving this transmitter. Having checked your location, it is possible that you are receiving a mainland UK transmitter, in which Freeview may be available.

You are probably recieving these signals from the Heathfield transmitter in East Sussex. You need a French multi standard tv, ie one that has Pal I as well the Pal BG that you have at the moment.
Freeview is available on that transmitter but you wont know it works there until you try it.
