Polremy
i have an iMac os8.6 and have been having trouble finding a scanner which i can use on it. they all seem to require os9 or above. does anyone out there know of a model which i could use? failing that can anyone tell me how can i get the cd rom or whatever is needed to upgrade and what it is likely to cost. i presume there would be other advantages in upgrading but i'm afraid i really dont understand most of the jargon!!merci en avance!! Duckalaronze
If your iMac is a 333mHz with tray-loading cd-rom, then no, you can't upgrade the system software, according to the Apple imac support website. If it's 350mHz or above, you can buy a cdrom for the upgrade and I would suggest one of the mail order web sites like Jigsaw or Dabs Direct. It shouldn't be too difficult.Pity you haven't got a SCSI connection - I've got two spare scanners here!Good luck, Gill
Richard-R
have a look in the big supermarkets. A lot of the computer stock are old models and i'm sure you'll find a cheap model that have an OS 8 driver.Richard (Aude)
