Hegs
The telecoms industry in France is changing, and as I understand it, companies other than FT are installing their own equipment to supply ADSL. As these may be in different exchanges, or use more sensitive equipment than old FT stuff, it is in theory possible to have a higher rate or even be connected where previously it wasn't possible. I would be suspicious about the results, one supplier (Cegetel) is claiming they can connect me when I doubt very much they have installed equipment in our local exchange. Still, I can try...But at least this will give you an idea of where the exchange is from the code, and if some kind of DSL will be possible in the future.
