Iceni
HiIs there anyone out there who has managed to run AOL and another dial-up ISP on the same machine. I am weaning a client away from AOL which is causing huge problems BUT we are getting error 0x800ccc0f and a 'service is interupted' message when we try to send from the other ISP dial-in account. I have send details of removing 'caller id' and also making sure that call waiting is not on the line but I have now run out of ideas. The funny thing is that she can send messages from her domain and Wanadoo account from Outlook when on-line with AOL but attachments are being randomly bounced by Symantec (they are jpg files) so I assume AOL virus checking is being over zelous. She is now finding out just how much of her PC AOL has taken over and if it was not a new machine she would buy a clean one and start again. She is also computer literate and has survived Microsoft telling her incorrectly how to port across files from the latest version of Organiser and so destroying Office and Outlook installations. Her views on software suppliers and ISP's are currently at an all time low Dihttp://www.iceni-it.co.uk
Alfa
How many more times ?The dreaded AOL again !When will people realise that this is awful stuff that will (try to) run their PC.Combine that with Norton (SYMANTEC) and you've got the equivalent of a McDonalds with Bernard Matthews chicken drummers - sxxxxe !! Norton is far too intrusive.I'd advise her to jettison both AOL and Norton (AVG anti virus software is the one to have).Hope her PC gets better.Alfa. Moulin
I must be the only totally satisfied customer of AOL in France - I do not have any problems at all - delighted with their very efficient fast service.Moulin
