tonypowell1
I am thinking of buying an EyeTV 300 (FireWire, DVB-S) made by a german firm called Elgato. It fits between my Mac and the satellite dish, and enables me to record programmes onto the hard disk of my Mac. Also it seems to enable me to set up time-shift recordings via some software and a web page, abit like TIVO.More info can be found here-http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv310The thing is I can't find out which satellites offer the free to air stuff in a standard that the EyeTV will work with. I am looking for English & French channels. The satellite dish requirements are - "Satellite dish with digital or universal LNB (not included). EyeTV 310 supports the DISEqC 1.0 and MiniDISEqC (Tone Burst) protocols and can control up to 4 LNBs."Anyone any ideas? I don't want to shell out 350 and then find I only have access to BBC World. Also I live in Finistere (29) so if anyone can reccomend a satellite dish installer, I would be grateful.
