Nickd
Have recently set up a Wanadoo internet connection on my PC and keep getting an error message that mentions CnMon.exe when I go into Outlook Express. Anyone come across this and can advise what to do?
tel
Hi,You are not alone!, take a look at the link below which is Google Groups search on your subject, you may find the answer there.http://groups.google.com/groups?q=CnxMon.exe&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=NBest of Luck
Nickd
Thanks for your advice re Google, but all the entries re the CnxMon business are in French.. I don't want to risk getting things wrong if I try and fix it following French instructions - any chance of someone with better French than mine telling me what to do in English? Would be very appreciative, Nick
hoffy
Hi Nick,Looked at the error message forums in French and the advice is as follows. It seems the problem is that you have the wanadoo connection kit installed. You need to access the system registry and delete a couple of entries. (go to start - Run - type 'regedit.exe') then click on:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/RUNthere should be two values 'cnxmon.exe'. Delete them.Do the same thing in:HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/RUNthis should cure the problem:Apparently Hope this helps James
Nickd
Hi James,Many thanks for taking the trouble to translate a fix from the myriad of entries on Google -I just don't trust my French for something as delicate as editing my registry! It seems to have done the trick, though interestingly I only found the offending exe deep in the HK Local Machine folder - it wasn't to be found in the HK Current User one.. Anyway if it stops the message, I'm happy..All the best,Nick
