Jongleur
I have photoshop and to reduce the size of a picture with it you can do 3 things, under image there is the option to change the image size - height and width, when you save it you can lower the quality and finally you save it as a JPG which is smaller than a BMP file.I don't know if this helps but you may be able to find similar functions in your software. hoverfrog
depends what operating system you are running, but on win32 I tend to use Micrographix and on OS X I use Goldberg if all I want to do is scale an image to a smaller size.I think M$Paint does a quick-and-dirty scale, if you select all and copy, then resize the image through the image menu, then paste, then click on the pasted image and drag the corner. Not very satisfactory unless it's not too drastic a scale, but sometimes needs must!

Will
For security reasons this site does not allow images to be uploaded. If you have an image hosted on your own web space, or in one of the places where you can store and link to copies of your digital images, you can include a link to it - if you have the message formatting options and smileys (whether you do or not depends on your operating system and browser), click on the icon that looks a bit like a postcard. Otherwise you can insert an html link. This is the html for the image above: "<P><IMG alt="Arthur the kitten" hspace=0 src="http://www.vienormande.com/images/kitten.jpg" align=baseline border=0></P>"
