Changes at Google involving you ?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Over the last few days Google seems to have changed the algorithm they use to rate sites.

How do I know ? I suddenly lost 250 visitors per day !

This has happened before. And it probably has not finished yet (one of my keywords was showing 5.2m sites, today only 4.4m).

You can read more about it here : http://www.webmasterworld.com/category3.htm

Those people relying on google hits for their website visitors need to analyse the changes, and maybe think about changing their websites.

Google optimisation used to be a little hobby of mine some time ago.

Have things changed much in the last couple of years?

I looked at your Languedoc site and typed the url into google minus the www and .com.

Your site url should come up number one on the first page. It doesn't.

It seems your site url is almost invisible, apart from lots and lots of lovely links.

Suggest you check your logs to see the last time the googlebot paid you a visit.

I wonder if your site was down during the last crawl or maybe you are being penalised?

Your pages are in their index, as these examples show.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=site%3Awww.the-languedoc-page.com+http&meta=

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=%22Languedoc+has+been+settled+by+the+Greeks%2C+Phoenicians+and+Romans%22&meta=

So, I suspect you have been penalized, check on www.webmasterworld.com for how to go about confirming and getting something done about it. Good luck.
