CBC
Just bought a (cheap) French keyboard and plugged it in to my UK-bought computer. The keys look right for a French keyboard, but when I strike them the equivalent of the UK key is posted. I've tried the "add hardware" option on the control panel, but no change. Am I missing something or is the keyboard just not compatible? Thanks for any help.RP
bertngill
This may be a little easier on my computer i use microsoft word, etc there is a facility to automatically switch keyboard language, you get spell check but not grammar, with all the correct accents. I have windows xp i used microsoft office tools. In the help part it will tell you exactly what to do. good luck Gillian:
Anton Redman
'My Computer' - 'Control Panel' - 'Keyboard' - 'Languages' - Add Languages' The list starts with 'Africaans' you can then add French. You may need your original Windows CD. (If you were running a 'DOS' machine you will need to replace 'KEYBUK' with 'KEYBFR' in either config.sys or autoexec.bat)Alternatively carefully prise the 'Q' , 'Z' etc off and put them in the 'right' for English places.
