Telephone recommendation anyone?

Having read recent posts on cordless telephonesystems etc, I am in the market for such an item - a three handset with answerphone job.

Can anyone recommend a particular make/model? I'm looking for a good quality one, capable of coping with thick stone walls and producing an answerphone message that can actually be deciphered!

I’ve been using a Panasonic DECT system (in the UK) for a couple of years and have been impressed with the sound and build quality, as I have with other Panasonic products I’ve owned over the years.

 

The system I have seems to be discontinued now and looking at the Panasonic UK website (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/dect-home/index.htm ) it looks like they’ve brought out some new models with colour screens, musical ring tones etc.  You may find it easier to compare the spec of different models on the UK website.  The Panasonic France website is at http://www.panasonic.fr/servlet/PB/menu/1038003_l3/index.html

The coverage range of all DECT phones should be similar.  If you’ve got thick walls, it might be worthwhile asking the dealer if they will take it back if it doesn’t work well in your house?

 

It’s always works out cheaper to buy a 2 or 3 handset package than buying a single unit and separate handsets later.
