Alice and poor telephone line

Hi All

Well, I've got my mums alice adsl working without any problems, we're in a non degroupage area so are still paying FT.

The line quality on the telephone when dialling to or from the alice box is appalling.  I know its effectively VOIP but still it's very bad cutting out every 2 or 3 seconds.  We've had no adsl dropouts and the adsl is very fast.  I've tried telephoning and emailing alice, but you know what their like.

Any ideas to improve the quality ??
