Clair
I have one of these strange things in my desk drawer and just looking at it gives me the sheeeets! (fonetikly)!I've never found out how to use it (them?) but then again, I've never got my head round a compass either, although I'm very good at map-reading! Jonzjob
I have one of these strange things in my desk drawerI got one of those in my draw too, but I haven't used it for years. Wonderful things... Something that I picked up years ago was a Balloon Pilots Slide Rule. That really is beyond me, it has 2 (two) slides on it. It's made of ivory (not politically correct these daze) and mahogany and is a lovely piece of kit. I can't even remember where I bought it. I also have a Silva compass and unlike my Garmin GPS the batteries have NEVER run out and let me down! Dead easy to use with a map (proper paper one).John.
