if we move do we have to cancel our subscription to the internet provider such as free

It is probably too late for this enquiry but it looked so lonely sitting here unattended I thought I'd take a chance that you still wanted a reply so here goes:

It may depend on your ISP but for me it was not necessary (I use Tiscali). We rented for 6 months before finding a permanent home and when we moved I rang up their support service and they changed the number and set up the line for ADSL. You may have to send them a letter, they do tend to like things in writing. Unfortunately I can't remember whether I did or not. Incidentally when we moved here France Telecom told us that we could only get Wanadoo so I foolishly took out a subscription with them as well. I switched back to Tiscali because their speeds were faster, FT telling us we could only get 512K on our line. Beware!
