Junlesley
Yes, we got it a few days ago, it makes a difference when using google or something like Living France, but apart from that we hav'nt noticed that much difference.
Lautrec
I have used Onspeed for a year and have found that it definitely speeds up downloading from the Internet, but it does not speed up the actual working of the computer. I would definitely recommend it!Lautrec.
Hegs
I'd recommend it too if you don't have ADSL. I've renewed the subscription on two computers two years running.

Dick Smith
Can you give me a bit of advice that I can't see on the website.I use Broadband in the UK and use my laptop with a wireless connection. No speed problems at all, and I don't think I would want On Speed for that, but in France I have the world's slowest dialup (free.fr) where I imagine it would help a lot.Can I switch it on and off, or would I need to run my UK setup through it as well? Martin963
You can turn it on and off; a little icon appears near the clock on the taskbar, and from there you can activate it or de-act.It doesn't work for everything (it actually slows down the arrival of acrobat files) but for most things it does make (I find) a very useful improvement. However, like you I have free in fr, and when that "goes to sleep" for 30 secs at a time while it deals with someone else then Onspeed cannot make any difference for that 30 secs or whatever. But I suspect you would know that anyway as you're better with computers than I am! Certainly overall I find a great improvement with free and with onetel in the UK. Dick Smith
Thank you for that. The free.fr sleep periods are incredibly annoying, especially when you are trying to connect. At one time I was trying to work in France, and being sent 1Mb files was sheer purgatory - and pretty expensive.
