sid
I did the simplest thing and typed "cnxmon.exe" into Google. A surprising number of hits! It seems that it's a process belonging to your Wanadoo set up. You do have Wanadoo?http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/CnxMon/http://www.tasklist.org/task_CnxMon_exe_7011.htmlIt appears than it's not essential and you can remove it with a Regisrty edit, although you shouldn't try this unless you're confidant. Always backup the Registry first.Hope this helpsSid
Deimos
If you are running CnxMon I assume you have a USB ADSL modem and are connecting to Wanadoo. It is not actually Wanadoo’s software (written by a 3rd party), but Wanadoo software (and a few ISPs as well) tend to install it.The easiest and safest thing to do is to get rid of the Wanadoo software in its entirety (which has the added benefit of probably making you computer run much better as well as the Wanadoo software is pretty ***.Once you have got rid of the wanadoo software, configure a standard Windoze network connection to Wanadoo (described in decent detail http://www.faqoe.com/index.php?bas=/connexionmanel.htm – sorry, cannot configure as a hot link so you will have to cut and paste the address).Ian
JohnM
What software / configuration is needed to connect to wanadoo haute debit using USB? I have just requested their 10€ service and read somewhere that you need some software for a USB connection (but it didnt' say what - just that ethernet didnt and USB did).John
springbank
We have an 5 year old toshiba laptop that we brought with us and havn,t got round to buying a new one yet. It is not a USB connected modem but a broken internal as the socket is broken( have tried to get a new modem but have been told that i would be bloody lucky so and hints would be great) and i now have the the 2 wires connected together with tape( i'm a farmer), it works fine as long as the kids don't pull to hard. I went into the wanadoo folder and deleted the file for cnxmon.exe and it now seems to work ok. Thanks for the reply's, i might just try and ditch wanadoo as it is a real pain ,thanks again Graham
Deimos
I think Wanadoo is OK (nothing particularly wrong with their service, performance, etc.). It’s just their software that is really ***.Ian
