Shane
When we open outlook express and try to create or receive an e mail the computer shuts down and then restarts (slowly) and sometimes it closes down all on its own as if there has been a power cut which there hasn't. Also all e mails received since Sunday morning have disappeared.Sounds like a virus - have run AVG and it has found nothing.Any ideas?

UlsterRugby1999
HiUsing Sys Restore is fine - but you still need to know why.Did you load any software, or download any .exe files or something like that.Something has caused this and basically Outlook Express is a poor cousin/sister of Outlook, it isnt that bad. Something has annoyed your system and you need to locate it.
Shane
Well - tried System Restore to 10 days ago, and it still shut down all on its own twice. Stopped AVG scanning e mails, and it still shuts down on its own. Cleared out cookies and temp internet files etc.The other odd thing was a "personal message" was on MSN Messenger ie "gone for a walk" and we kept deleting it but every time the computer shut down and came back on so did the message from Sunday, as if it was restoring itself to that particular time.At the moment this morning it has not done anything funny yet but I am not holding my breath.
