Linden Arden
We had a fair old electrical storm last night and this morning my Wanadoo Sagem ADSL modem seems to have packed up inasmuch as there is no power light on it.....what I can't remember is whether there was a power light shining at all times before the storm ?Everything goes through a surge porotector and th ephone is working fine this mornign - could the storm have blown the modem somehow ?[8-)][geek]
bixy
It seems that modems are very susceptible to lightning -whether it actually has to enter the house or not I'm not sure. It did in our case and destroyed everything electronic except the computer. However when I tried to connect to the internet it wouldn't. I phoned up the computer vendors help line and the first question I was asked was - have you had any lightning there recently. It seems it's a well known problem with modems. Sorry not to be of more help.Patrick
