Alan Zoff Posted November 17, 2006 Share Posted November 17, 2006 Not sure if this is right part of forum but nearest I can find.I was never that pleased with the hi-fi amp in the French house and it has now thrown a complete wobbly. Rather than try to get it fixed or just discard it, I was wondering if I could make use of a spare high-spec car power amp. It seems to have the necessary inputs to plug my house CD and FM tuner into it. The power output and speaker impedance requirements are within range as far as the house loudspeakers are concerned. So all I seem to need is a 12v power supply.Will any 240v in/12v out power supply do for this? I gather some are "regulated" and some "unregulated" - which would I need? (Sorry, no longer have the instructions or detailed specifications for the car amp.)Anything else I need to watch out for? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
