annie1
Has anyone any suggestions on why our telephone which works in conjunction with our free box is now not working. It was perfectly alright last night but this morning no dialing tone nothing!!! Our French telecom phone is fine, just expensive, so we know there is nothing up with our line. Also, sorry there is always an also isn't there, when trying to email a friend with an aol email address my email kept getting returned by the postmaster, I followed the link and cannot make sense of the message it says "the IP address on your ISP's network has generated a high volume of mail to AOL and has exceeded our rate limit. Possible causes include a compromised or virus infected personal computer or a non-disclosed server relaying mail within the ISP's network - what does all this mean, sorry I am rather technically challenged. Any advice would be great.
Cassis
Have you got up-to-date antivirus software installed and running? AOL seem to think there is an unusual amount of email activity from your Free account address, possibly (but not necessarily) because a worm or virus is sending out spam mail from your computer unbeknown to you. Could also have affected your phone connection via the Internet. Just a layman's suggestion.
pogo
Hi.Our free line goes down occasionally, and the time disply starts doing funny jigs, and the phone doesn't work. Try unplugging the power for 10 secs, and plug back in,but it will need 5 mins to reconfigure.Good luck

vin rouge
Thanks all the for the help. The email problem has just sorted itself!!!! We swapped our roamer phone for the old corded phone downstairs and voila all is well with the phone system now - hurrah. The only problem is with all our mucking around we lost some of our cookies and automatic links to things like this forum so we have re-joined so annie1 is now vin rouge. Again many thanks
