red
You can never be bitten by a furlong, it will always be at least 220 yards away (201,168 metres )
Dick Smith
Only one end of it will be 10 chains away, the other end could be biting your leg. So watch out, there's an Imperial measurement about!
Bugsy
Talking of phone numbers how many of you have an I.C.E. number in your mobile ?I. InC. case ofE. emergencyIntroduced by the ambulance service in the UK and gives a number to be called if you're found in an accident/collapsed condition. The advice is to stick it at the top of your mobile phone directory. I'm not sure if it france has the system in place though.http://www.cnhw.co.uk/ice.cfm
Jonzjob
English Speaking Directory of Emergency Numbers in France and Paris. ?This is from your web site BB. I have also bookmarked it, but are they trying to tell us something. Is the capitooool still in France or has it been elivated to a still higher plane than it was?Nowt wrong with the metrik system. After all a meter is only a yard with 10% inflation [geek]! And if France is totally metrik then why do they still sell bike tyres in inches? And 'puter screens in inches too?Oh yes and plumbing bits!!!
