Will a new TV set work with our old system?

Recommended Posts

When we arrived in France three years ago

we brought with us a TV and digibox and linked them up to a satellite

dish bought in France, aligned to receive UK programmes.  That has

worked fine, but our (fairly elderly) TV has now given up and we want

to buy a new flat screen model here to replace it. Can we just plug in

any of the many models on sale in Darty etc and expect the system to

work in the same way?  Or are there any special features we should look

out for?

Many thanks,

Val

I agree - I've not seen any sets without scart connectors for sale for years now, so if you get one with scart it should be simple to remove the plug from the old set and put in the new one.

If your old set was not widescreen but your new set is, then you will need to go into the settings section of the Sky box menu and make sure you change the screen settings accordingly - also make sure the box is set to RGB output as well for improved picture quality.

Regards - Tim
