Jackie Posted July 2, 2007 Share Posted July 2, 2007 From time to time our computer decides to block the dialing of our ISP in France. Using system restore seems to solve the problem but we loose recent downloads of course. On further investigation I have found that our Phonetools software (software that allows us to use the computer as a telephone and answering machine) also refuses to dial that number when the fault occurs. Both the ISP and the Phonetools software will dial an alternative number for the ISP however. This would suggest that the problem may be nothing to do with the ISP software although reloading the ISP software also solves the problem. I can see nothing in the Modem software that would do this but maybe I am looking in the wrong place.
