mark and sacha
Hi,someone has kindly given us a satellite box. They have said you can pick up a freeview card for 20euros. I have been searching but all I can find is ones for 50euros +. Can anyone recommend the cheapest place? Many thankssacha
Martin963
Strictly speaking they are called free-to-view cards, and are issued by Sky (and only by Sky) for use on Sky digiboxes for decrypting C4, C5, and Sky 3 (I think). They are indeed about £20 and you need to ring Sky and have the Sky box number handy, along with a UK address.I'm not sure of the correct number, but 0870 606 1111 might be a good place to start (Freesat from Sky, but explain that you already have the box). Unless you know the intricacies of international calls and number witholding, do not ring Sky from France. There are some anglo-french Co's that get hold of them I believe, but at a price. And I don't think it's by methods in accordance with Sky's Terms and Conditions (although I may be wrong about that).
Tim
Martin is correct - the only thing I would add is you say ' someone has given you a satellite box' - before you look for Freesat cards you need to confirm that it's a Skybox - the cards you are talking about will not work with other boxes.Tim
