Ford Anglia
..............in France? I'll only want it to watch DVD's, it doesn't record, and the TV it's going to (hopefully) play through is a French one.I've just bought a DVD recorder, so the player is redundant.Thanks. Martin963
Provided you hook up with SCART (or for that matter composite video RCA's) it will be fine.French TV's since the mid 80's have been required to cope with PAL and SECAM, so even a PAL composite o/p from the DVD will allow the French TV to display in colour. Most of the problems linked to colour and sound arise either when you use the RF (ie aerial) socket on a TV, or when you bring a non system L Brit TV over to France and try to watch terrestrial analouge.Neither applies to you so you'll be fine. Pierre ZFP
Not only will it work fine but if the DVD player claims to be region specific (eg Region 2) just search for a region hack on the Net to make it any region. There will be one for EVERY type of player, usually a code and keypress combination on the remote. Perfectly legal and safe. I was even told that it is illegal to sell region specific players these days but not sure about that.
