Intermitent telephone connection with Livebox

We have set up Livebox and even managed to work out that to get unlimited free calls we would need to go down the second handset route!

However although we leave the livebox on all the time, with all the green lights nicely alight, every day at some point the Livebox drops back to one green and one red light, at which point we have a good 5 minute fiddle unplugging power and phone connections and waiting for it to re-set.  There doesn't seem to be any set time when this default to red occurs.

I can't beleive we need to keep the computer on 24 hours a day just to maintian the connection. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Our livebox seems to drop off once a day too. I normally switch power off to it for 5 secs and switch back on and it re-sets.

My pc is not on all the time, buy the connection is still maintained, so do not understand how yours is not connected when your pc is off.

If your livebox is constantly "dropping out" take it back and get a replacement. And keep taking it back until you get a good one. Most of the liveboxes are made in France, which isn't a country renowned for its micro-electronics. Most people I know have returned 3 or more to find a good one, we were lucky and never had a problem.
