jan
HiDoes anyone know of a french pay as you go mobile phone that doesn't require regular topping up. My husband died last year and having one for driving at night in case of a breakdown would be invaluable.Jan
cooperlola
Nope. If you find one, let me know!If it's just for emergencies, daftly, it really does work out more cheaply to use a UK one that lasts and lasts.Sorry to hear about your husband. jan
HelloThank you for your reply. I have thought about a UK one because in the case of an emergancy it really wouln't be a problem if that call cost me a fiver. The only potential problem would be that the breakdown number I have is an 08 number and that wouldn't work on a UK phone. I will have to contact my Insurance company and check if there is a French numberI can ring.Janp.s. thank you for your kind words about my husband, the care he received and the support I received was second to none. Maricopa
I use Orange. I top up with a 25 euros card every two months. As long as you top up before it expires (you get a weeks followed by a days warning text) whatever credit you have left on your phone carries over, so you never loose it. Incidentally the 25 euro card gives you 30 euros credit. Building up credit is handy if you make occasional trips to the Uk, as it can be quickly used up when your there! Another plus about using Orange is that it has very good coverage both in France and ailleurs.
