Cheaper phone calls

Have just read this on another post - does it really work and does it also apply to calling the portable?

 

it's better to first dial 0844 9767676 and you will only pay 2-3p per minute for calls to France !).

2-3p per minute is expensive to France. I always use Discountdial  who have excellent line connections at .05p per minute to call  landline phones and 7p per minute to call a mobile. I suggest you check this site http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/france  for the cheapest calls. Do remember that there is also a charge to call  0844 of about 4pence then .05pence a minute thereafter.
