Christine Animal
I'm with Orange - Wanadoo and the bar at the top of the page with the site address in it has disappeared, so I cannot copy and paste a link. I've been in "affichage", but can't find it, and don't know why it has disappeared.
tenniswitch
Are you talking about the search box at the top of the Orange page or the topmost toolbar (AKA the address bar) on your screen? If the latter, what do you see if you right-click any toolbar at the top of the page?
Christine Animal
Thank you Tenniswitch. What has disappeared is the bar with the http// in it where you see what site you are on, where you can type in a site to go to it, or copy and paste it, which is perhaps what you mean by the address bar.Right clicking a toolbar gives :Boutons standardBarre d'adressesLiensGoogleVerrouiller les barres d'outilsPersonnaliser... Suandpete
does F11 work? It does on our laptop...
Christine Animal
Ernie, the Barre d'adresses is ticked.Su, F11 makes even more disappear, then if I press again it comes back, but still not the address bar. Most peculiar. It's a pain because I can't do any links.
tenniswitch
Has anyone changed your screen resolution settings lately? It sounds as if you are using Internet Explorer. Do you know which version? Sometimes you have to reinstall your browser. You might try googling "lost address bar" and see what turns up.
Christine Animal
Yes I've got Internet Explorer, 6.0 I think. I'll see if I can find where to reinstall the browser and have a google. Thanks.
AnOther
Are you sure it's not just hiding somewhere ?At the left hand edge of every toolbar there is a tiny vertical row of dots. If you have one of those in an unexpected place with nothing apparently to the right of it try dragging it to the left, it could be your address bar ! Christine Animal
Found it ! By doing this If the Address bar is in the upper right corner and not available, right-click Address, and then click Lock the Toolbar to remove the check mark.• Click Address, and then drag the Address bar where you want it. on here http://www.morun.net/www/erase-history/erase-address-bar-history-eraser.html Don't know how it got lost over there though [8-)] Many thanks for all your help. Tim
[quote user="Christine Animal"]Yeah, little [6]Now I see I've got another one over there "Liens" (links). You can create links for the most frequently used sites - it makes jumping around websites much quicker and easier.I've found that lots of people don't know about it, but when I've demonstrated the way links work, everybody I know has thought it's a great idea.Tim
Christine Animal
Well Tim I've dragged the links across and under the address bar. There's Voila and Wanadoo on it. How do you add more? I usually go in my favourites for that.
Tim
Yes, go into Favourites and you should find 'Links' there. I find I have to edit some of the entries there as they are too long, but have a play around and you'll soon 'master' it.Tim

Tim
Sorry - had to watch the new Attenborough - glad you got it going ok - once you get your most used links on there it will become even more useful.Tim
